Our Flight Home

We have to leave the villa by 10am our time so that the cleaners can sort the place before the next guests come in some time after 4pm.

We've then got a drive of around 90 minutes to Melbourne Airport for our flight which leaves at 1640.  We're due to land At Doncaster Sheffield Airport at 0535 (UK time) on Monday.

Our flight number is TOM 565 and you can track our progress using this link - https://uk.flightaware.com/live/flight/TOM565

Remaining Days

Thursday

Thursday was another pool morning followed by a trip to Haines City and lunch at Sonny's.

We enjoyed a walk around Animal Kingdom in the evening. We had a very short wait to get onto the Kilimanjaro Safari - no pics as we've done it several times before.

Many animals were out and about including giraffes, elephants, rhinos with their baby, lions, cheetahs, crocodiles, hyenas, flamingos,  hippos, warthogs, wildebeest and others. Early evening seems to be a good time for this ride.

We then went to see the gorillas who also had a tiny baby and then to the Maharaj Jungle Trek. We were told that the tigers  weren't there - imagine they'd gone to see the fireworks at Magic Kingdom 🤣.

Friday

A day at home. We had a lovely day chatting to some neighbours we hadn't met before but who live in Newark and the husband is from Watford! They are original buyers who bought their house here when it was a piece of grass in 2005.

Larry's roof is now finished

Larry popped across in the afternoon and then we went to Longhorn with Larry and Dottie. This was our last meal out on this trip and it's been a joy to see James tucking into his meals every time we've gone out.

A job for the plumber, not me!

He's been so well behaved in the restaurants and several over diners have commented on how good and cute he's been.

Wednesday

Another relaxing morning by the pool while Graeme did jobs around the house.

We had lunch locally at huey magoos.

In the evening Catherine, Elizabeth and James went to the Magic Kingdom. We arrived just in time to see the Cavalcade and then went on Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, Under the Sea and the Carousel.

Rainbow

James enjoyed all of them. We left just before the fireworks so got back to the parking lot on the monorail quite quickly.

Day 10 - Epcot

We spent the morning at home swimming and chilling.  It was also time to see of the irrigation system was working properly.

After J's nap we went to our favourite park, Epcot. It was a lovely sunny evening and we enjoyed wandering around the World Showcase.

We spent a lot of time in The Seas with Nemo which J loved. It was hard to drag him away from watching the manatees.

Day 9 - Ford's Garage

So here is the famous Ford's Garage at Margaritaville and Larry tells us that there is one coming to the ChampionsGate grouping just beyond the I-4 where Longhorn and Olive Garden are already present.

Amazingly, none of us need to use the bathroom/restroom/toilet there and Dottie tells us they are something else, but said nothing more and that we would have to see for ourselves next time we came.

Day 9 - Monday 25 April

We had an arrangement for someone to measure for new blinds around the villa this afternoon so, as we had got a reservation slot to visit the Magic Kingdom, we got going early and set off for the park.

It was also a big day for our neighbour across the road as he had decided to take the plunge and have his roof replaced at a mere cost of around $17,500 (approx. £13,500).  Well, at least he won't have to worry about it for the next 10 years, when he'll have to have it done all over again or risk not getting home insurance cover. His new roof will be guaranteed against winds of up to 130mph, so fingers crossed we don't get anything beyond that here in that time!

We decided to park at Epcot and use the monorail to Magic Kingdom as parking is usually easier there. However, we always forget that you have to change monorails at the Transportation and Ticketing Centre and that getting to MK can then take ages, so we’re still learning.

James enjoyed the monorail ride and we managed to avoid the long queue for the monorail by taking the resort hotels monorail line instead.

Once inside we headed for Fantasyland and It's a Small World which James loves. We planned to go on the Carousel but the queue was long and in bright, by now hot, sunshine so we opted out.

Today was probably the hottest day since we arrived. We had a quick spin on the People Mover and then headed back via the traditional ferry boat.

In the evening we went to Ford's Garage with its replica cars which James thought were great.
